Temptation is something we all face.  It’s like a fire in our lives if we don’t put it out!  Beginning July 3, come and find out how to put out the fire of temptation!  Get a first hand look at the real temptations that you face and how to extinguish them!  Wednesdays in July, at aXcess!

On August 3, Axcess wants to serve you!  Whether you need the hedges trimmed, the grass mowed, or the shutters painted, we want to help.  Sign up will begin on Sunday, June 29.  You can sign up in the foyer, or see Jonathan!  Time is limited, so hurry up…let us serve you!

The first aXcess parent that reads this and has their student tell Jonathan the key phrase below, gets a free lunch with Jonathan (the student, sorry parents!).

Wednesday, June 11, your student will learn how to have a better outlook on life.  We will talk about the disappointments and frustrations that come with life and will look at practical ways to deal with them.  Your student will be encouraged to have their priorities in order, to have fun, not to worry about minor things, and to live for heaven, not earth.  Here are some ways you can help them enjoy life:

Have Your Student:

Write out their priorities (starting with their relationship with Christ).  Have them make a commitment through prayer that these will be their priorities. 

Ask Your Student:

What has happened in your life that has caused you to get mad at it?

What could you have done differently?  How could a positive attitude have changed this situation?

What can else can you do to enjoy life?

Beginning Wednesday, June 18:

May 27th, we will talk about you during aXcess (positively of course).  We will talk about the responsibilities that the parent has and what responsibilities the teen has.  We will discuss that you have to follow God’s example in being a parent and they must obey the 4th Commandment .  Instead of having you ask your student questions, this week, I want you to ask yourself some:

Do I accentuate the positives in my student? 

Do I parent in a way to bring glory to the Father?

Do I try my best to follow God’s example for parenting?

Do I know what God’s example looks like?  Do I read His Word enough to know?

Do I have a trusting relationship with my student?  Do I allow them to talk to me?  Am I honest with them?

What can I do to be more welcoming to my student?  To have them talk about problems and things in their life with me?

Remember:  It is up to you to have your student do this.  They WILL NOT do it if they are not constantly reminded and held accountable.  If they don’t do it on their own, have a family devotion time with these verses!
